The Waveney Valley Community Archaeology Group (WVCAG) was founded in March 2013, and is currently run by a small team of dedicated volunteers. The group was formed with the intention of providing a new inclusive and welcoming regional archaeological group, which would focus on the archaeological interests of the group members.
The WVCAG has regular meetings and consultations with its members to discuss the focus and future direction of the group’s activities. The group meets on a monthly basis, and has, to date, undertaken a mixture of public talks, practical archaeological training and group visits to archives and sites of archaeological importance in the region. It is currently funded by the membership subscriptions, and by small donations at each meeting for room hire.
